The Year to Serve – April
This month’s theme is about feeding and nourishment, not only physically but also spiritually. Our souls need to be fed often with the word of God and our activities. We also have to feed ourselves in the physical sense too. This month, we have many opportunities for you to not only help nourish someone else in another country, but also right here at home.
If needed, the Kairos Ministry team will request home baked cookies to deliver to the inmates. Due to COVID, this ask might look a little different or might be postponed. If so, you can still help by making a placement and decorating it for them to deliver to the prisons. For more details: contact Butch Williams.
Our community partner, OMM is a non-profit organization that demonstrates Christ’s love by providing food, clothing furniture and financial assistance to those in need in Shelby County and the Greater Birmingham area. This week you can donate food to them and volunteer to help stock their shelves.
What better way to provide nourishment than making and preparing a meal for a friend or family member? If you would like to get the whole family involved, then plan on taking a meal to a family that is staying at YWCA and make a night out of it by eating and playing games.
Our meal-packing event is back! The dates for this year’s event is April 24-26, 2022. If you cannot participate in person, then prayerfully consider a financial donation to provide for the meals and ingredients.
